The trail may be challenging in spots, but the reward is worth it—both for the beauty of the surroundings and the sight of the broken dam, a structure that once held back the power of the river, now cradled by nature.

The riverbed is rocky, so bring water shoes to protect your feet. Also, pack salt in case you encounter any leeches, and don’t forget your towel and bug spray.
